Dr. Ethan Royster

Dr. Royster is a Wylie local and graduated from Wylie High School. He developed an early interest in Optometry, having a great-grandmother who was blind and a family history of other eye diseases. Dr. Royster himself required glasses at an early age due to being highly nearsighted. These factors led him to go to Texas A&M University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. During his time at A&M he was a member of the Aggie Optometry Association and worked as an optometric technician.

After graduating from A&M, Dr. Royster went to the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While at UHCO, he was awarded a Clinical Letter of Excellence and the Optelec Low Vision Award for his services in the Center for Sight Enhancement. Dr. Royster also completed clinical rotations with the Houston VA and Space Center Eye Associates where he became experienced and interested in managing ocular disease. Additionally, Dr. Royster is highly trained in fitting specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, and low vision.

Dr. Royster and his wife, Erin, met when they were in middle school in their church’s youth group. They were married in 2014, and have a cat named Anastasia. In his free time, Dr. Royster enjoys traveling with his wife and playing the guitar.
